The Miami Hurricanes did not need to play last week in order to move up in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings. After moving up one spot in The Associated Press Top 25 Poll and two spots in other polls on Sunday, Miami moved up from No. 9 to No. 8 in Tuesday night’s CFP rankings after BYU and Tennessee tumbled following their losses over the weekend. The Hurricanes are seeded third and if the rankings stay the same, they would receive a first-round bye.
