Colorado is on track to see the deadliest year for police shootings since 2020 with nearly 60 people having been shot or killed by state law enforcement so far this year. This time last year, 34 people had been killed by police officers and sheriff’s deputies across Colorado and 19 others had been injured, according to a dataset compiled by The Denver Post. Police have fatally shot 36 people this year and injured another 20, according to the dataset.
