MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins, before the halfway point of the regular season, find themselves in the difficult predicament of running out of games they can still lose if they still plan on qualifying for the playoffs in 2024. Worse yet, their next task is to face the team in the AFC East that has created a blockade from allowing them to take the next step from playoff qualifier that bows out in the opening round to division champ and serious Super Bowl contender. Such is life when a team loses three of four games it plays without its starting quarterback and, even once Tua Tagovailoa returned, dropped a heartbreaker at home to the Arizona Cardinals with its normally reliable defense collapsing late. The Dolphins (2-5) take that minimal margin for error with them to their house of horrors that is Highmark Stadium to face the Buffalo Bills (6-2) in a 1 p.m.
