Freeing people of a long, unproductive, and expensive journey can yield immediate boosts to employee productivity and happiness. S. in recent years, rising 19% from 2016 though 2023. The main cause is a severe shortage of affordable housing. Rising homelessness has renewed debates about use of public space and how encampments affect public safety.

Denver International Airport wants to exchange land north of Pena Boulevard with a landfill operator. The city-owned airport is asking the Denver City Council to sign off on the deal, which would not involve any cash changing hands. The deal calls for the airport to give Allied Waste Services of Colorado, a subsidiary of Phoenix-based Republic Services, 25.3 acres between Himalaya Road and E-470.

A new grocery store in Aurora, one of Colorado’s most diverse cities, is catering to the increasingly diverse Hispanic populations that are making the community their home. Ahorra Mucho is a partnership between national discount grocery chain Save A Lot and Leevers Supermarkets. The first-of-its-kind store for the two companies opened in a 24,000-square-foot former Kmart in the La Plaza Colorado at 15200 E Colfax Ave. The grocery chains call Ahorra Mucho — Spanish for save a lot — an “innovation center,” where services and products and food found in Mexico and throughout Central America will be tested and sold to tap into the fast-growing Hispanic populations in Colorado and across the U.

The former Bandimere Speedway property has sold to automobile auction firm Copart. California-based Copart purchased the approximately 150-acre site northwest of C-470 and Morrison Road on Tuesday for $51 million, according to public records. The site, which included both the track and huge parking lots, has been fully within the limits of Morrison since August, when the town board voted 4-3 to annex about 125 acres that had been outside it. Copart plans to turn the site into a storage facility for cars awaiting resale.
