LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors in Los Angeles say they will ask a court Friday to resentence Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted of killing their parents in 1989 and are serving life without the possibility of parole. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has said there’s no doubt the brothers killed their parents in Beverly Hills, and the pair admitted to the murders.

A Colorado Parks and Wildlife employee on Thursday rescued a deer in Bayfield that was tangled in electric rope, according to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Twitter. Community members had reported sightings of the deer that had electric rope, a type of nylon rope intertwined with electric wiring, wrapped around its neck and antlers for weeks. The rope left a gash in the buck’s neck and broke one of the buck’s antlers. Once the buck was untangled, Taylor gave the animal a drug to reverse the sedation.

The Nuggets have a new court for their in-season tournament home games this year, and it’s a bit more modest. Unlike the predominantly royal blue court that was rolled out at Ball Arena for the inaugural tournament in 2023, Denver’s floor will be yellow in the second edition of the event, now called the Emirates NBA Cup.

Broncos safety P. J. Locke is dealing with a thumb injury that has put his status for Sunday’s game against Carolina in question. Locke appeared to drop out of practice Wednesday with the injury. He was doing normal work during the open portion of practice Wednesday but was not seen coming off the field when the Broncos finished their work day.

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting last week in Denver, the team confirmed Thursday, and two men have been arrested on charges of attempted murder. Reynolds and another man were injured in the early morning shooting on Oct. 18 after they were followed from a strip club, according to reporting by 9News. “Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement.
