When California raised fast food wages, jobs actually increased. That’s not what the industry wants you to think

The data is especially relevant ahead of a ballot measure to add $2 to California’s minimum wage. California’s dominant corporate fast food chains and their scare partners were sure about one thing: The state’s new $20 per hour minimum wage for most workers in that sector was going to lead to massive job cuts, dramatic price hikes or both.
