The western edge of Denver is losing a pharmacy. Walgreens, the nationwide chain based in Illinois, will close its location at 5151 W. Colfax Ave. on Nov. 12, the company confirmed to BusinessDen. The closure of the store at the corner of Colfax and Sheridan, on the border with Lakewood, is part of a nearly 25 percent cut to the company’s count of 8,600 stores, which Walgreens announced in an earnings call in July.
