Pumpkin patches, costume contests, Halloween bashes: Family-friendly fall events in South Florida

Spooky season is here! It’s time to start making that fall checklist because there’s so much to see and do this month in South Florida. You won’t want to miss any of the festive fun that awaits families this year. The National Retail Federation’s 2024 Halloween Spending Survey expects 72 percent of Americans to celebrate Halloween, which falls on a Thursday this year, with costumes, decorations and candy each bringing in more than $3 billion during the season. Have your kids picked out their costumes yet? Chances are they’ll be looking at Spider-Man, ghost, princess, witch and superhero costumes this year, according to the survey.
