For Broward sheriff, no endorsement. Here’s why

Broward voters will soon elect a sheriff, but neither candidate on the Nov. 5 ballot is acceptable. The Sun Sentinel Editorial Board declines to recommend a candidate to run the county’s largest law enforcement agency. Sheriff Gregory Tony, 45, a Democrat appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2019 and elected in 2020, easily captured the August primary over three opponents.
