Comment on Advocate for our seniors in the Florida Ombudsman Program | Opinion

I hadn’t known what the word meant at that time. Ombudsman. It’s not a word we have in Spanish. An ombudsman is an advocate, but it means something different to everyone. To volunteers like me, being in Florida’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program means defending residents of long-term care facilities, investigating and resolving issues to ensure that seniors’ health, safety, welfare and rights are protected.
