Contaminated eggs sold in Illinois recalled after causing Salmonella infections

A Wisconsin poultry company has issued a recall for eggs sold in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin after they were found to be contaminated with a strain of Salmonella that has sickened 65 people. On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a Food Safety Alert for the recalled eggs from Milo’s Poultry Farms LLC, which had been sold in stores and restaurants under the labels “Milo’s Poultry Farms” and “Tony’s Fresh Market.” The CDC advises all consumers who have purchased these eggs to avoid eating them, instead throwing them away or returning them.
