By ZEKE MILLER and WILL WEISSERT WASHINGTON (AP) — A good-governance group is warning of severe consequences if President-elect Donald Trump continues to steer clear of formal transition planning with the Biden administration — inaction that it says is already limiting the federal government’s ability to provide security clearances and briefings to the incoming administration. Without the planning, says Max Stier, president and CEO of the nonprofit Partnership for Public Service, “it would not be possible” to “be ready to govern on day one.” The president-elect’s transition is being led by Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick and Linda McMahon, the former wrestling executive who led the Small Business Administration during Trump’s first term.

Chief U. S. District Judge Mark Walker on Wednesday issued an eight-page decision that rejected an injunction sought by Floridians Protecting Freedom, a political committee that sponsored the amendment. The committee filed a lawsuit last month seeking a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction after the state Department of Health sent threatening letters to broadcasters alleging that the disputed ad posed a public “health nuisance.” The letters came as Gov.

Tony Figueroa, 31, president of the Miami Young Republicans, said he believes that having the economy under Trump again was a primary factor in what brought droves of Hispanic men and women to the polls in ways not seen before. Many people within the Miami Young Republicans are young professionals either “starting out in our careers” or “growing in our careers,” Figueroa said, and they want to do that within a strong economy. Miami-Dade County, a longtime Democratic stronghold with a large Hispanic population, favored Trump in this election, with 55% of voters casting a ballot for him. Exit polls demonstrated an increase in the percentage of votes for Trump from Hispanic communities in this year’s election in comparison to the 2020 and 2016 elections. For example, according data from Edison Research, Joe Biden won among Latino men by 23 percentage points, with 59% voting for Biden and 36% voting for Trump in 2020.

S. government’s highway safety agency says Tesla is telling drivers in public statements that its vehicles can drive themselves, conflicting with owners manuals and briefings with the agency saying the electric vehicles need human supervision. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is asking the company to “revisit its communications” to make sure messages are consistent with user instructions. The request came in a May email to the company from Gregory Magno, a division chief with the agency’s Office of Defects Investigation.

S. president, according to a Ukrainian official with direct knowledge of the phone call. The person, who was not authorized to comment on the matter publicly, confirmed that Zelenskyy and Musk spoke during the call with Trump, but that Musk did not appear to be on the line for the entire conversation on Wednesday.
