Boeing named a longtime aerospace industry veteran as its next chief executive, who will take over a company that has been rocked by legal, regulatory and production problems. Robert “Kelly” Ortberg, 64, a former CEO at aerospace supplier Rockwell Collins, will succeed David Calhoun, 67, as CEO effective Aug. 8, the company said on Wednesday. Boeing announced its new CEO as it reported a loss of more than $1.4 billion on falling revenue during the second quarter.
