Four judges will retire from the Broward County Court bench this fall. As a result, the bench is losing decades of institutional knowledge in a county that’s more populous than 13 states. One of those four departing judges is Robert Lee, who joined the bench in 1997 — so long ago that he was appointed by Florida’s last Democratic governor, Lawton Chiles. Replacing that much experience will not be easy, but Broward voters can start by electing Corey Brian Friedman in the Group 25 race on the Aug.
