Cancer prevention and treatment for South Florida’s homeless requires temporary housing | Opinion

Every day, individuals in South Florida are diagnosed with cancer and subsequently connected to cancer centers with detailed treatment plans. And yet, as a community, we face the staggering fact that the poorest individuals among us are 30% more likely to die from that diagnosis as compared to their wealthier neighbors. In South Florida, the homeless population faces an alarming paradox in cancer care and treatment.
