Comment on Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes Reinstated in Wisconsin

On Saturday, Elon Musk furthered an ongoing effort in support of Donald Trump: He went onstage to sow misinformation about the integrity of American elections. At the former president’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania—in the same location where Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt in July—Musk awkwardly took to the stage in a Black MAGA hat and a t-shirt that said “OCCUPY MARS,” jumping up and down on his way to the podium.

The Guardian received leaked audio from a Trump fundraiser in Aspen, Colorado on August 10th, were he despicable jokes about Helen Comperatore, the widow of firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the attempt. The leaked audio also contained Trump attacking migrants with his made up stories to the wealthy donors coughing up big bucks to be there. He descended into demon style hubris when he made fun of widow Helen Comperatore’ after she received a million dollars in donations. Then, recalling a meeting with Comperatore’s widow, Helen, he made a risky attempt to find humour in the tragedy.

Colorado voters this fall will decide two major criminal justice ballot questions that would increase the amount of time some criminals serve in prison and set aside $350 million solely for Colorado law enforcement agencies. Proponents of Proposition 128 and Proposition 130, two ballot measures put forth by the conservative advocacy group Advance Colorado for the Nov.

Whatever you think of Brian Stelter, you have to applaud his refusal to let MAGA lies about Hurricane relief go unchallenged and uncorrected. Republican T. W. Arrighi did his best to promote right-wing lies on CNN's The Source with Kaitlan Collins Friday night: lies that recovery money is going to immigrants instead of citizen hurricane victims and lies that the Biden administration is not helping victims as much as it could and should because they’re in red states.
