Comedian, actor, writer and director Bobcat Goldthwait, who starred in the “Police Academy” movie franchise and also played opposite Bill Murray in the 1988 film “Scrooged,” in April sold his four-bedroom, 2,999-square-foot home on 3.27 acres in west suburban Winfield for $750,000. A native of Syracuse, New York, Goldthwait, 62, told the Tribune’s Rick Kogan last year that he had lived in California for 35 years before moving to the Chicago suburbs several years ago so his girlfriend could be near her parents. Through an opaque land trust, Goldthwait paid $445,750 in early 2021 for the house. Then, in 2023, Goldthwait paid another $175,000 for a vacant lot next door, meaning that in total, he paid $620,750 for the combined properties. In February, Goldthwait listed the contemporary-style house and the adjoining vacant lot for $775,000, and he went under contract to sell less than a week later.
