Colorado State Patrol expands free steering wheel lock program to 9 locations

The Colorado State Patrol has expanded its free steering wheel lock program, according to a Tuesday news release from the agency. The program provides Colorado residents with free steering wheel locks to prevent car theft. The locks can now be picked up at nine locations in Colorado cities: Lakewood, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Golden, Alamosa, Castle Rock, Craig, Durango and Florence, according to the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority. Each resident can get up to two steering wheel locks and must provide a VIN for the vehicle they would like a lock for, according to the news release.
