One person died after a vehicle struck a light pole in Cooper City late Saturday morning, officials say. The car struck a light pole in the 11800 block of Griffin Road a little after 11 a.m., according to Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane. One person died at the scene, and no one else was transported. Two cars appeared to be severely damaged at the scene Saturday afternoon while Broward Sheriff’s deputies investigated. It is unclear what caused the crash and what happened to the other car and its occupants.
