  • Politics Greg Gutfeld Projects, Calls De Niro A 'Self-Absorbed Prick'
    Crooks and Liars, 05/29/2024 - 7:43am

Fox News' Greg Gutfeld became psychosexually creepy when he attacked actor Robert De Niro for not worshiping his Dear Leader in front of the Trump Hush Money trial courthouse. Gutfeld tried hard to smear De Niro's fame and career by making ridiculous jokes that amused no one. I don't know why it's sad to see someone disagree with the plethora of Republican lawmakers who have come to New York and made specious claims and outrageous lies about the Judge, his daughter and the trial. Trump trots his fat ass out every day at the courthouse and reads off MAGA propaganda trash penned by his paid sycophants when he's not claiming the 2020 election was stolen.

  • Living GABF 2024 will have fewer sessions — and more than just beer
    Denver Post, 05/29/2024 - 10:50am

The Great American Beer Festival plans to reduce the number of attendee sessions in 2024 and permit breweries to serve additional beverages, including ready-to-drink cocktails. Boulder-based organizer the Brewers Association recently noted changes to the craft beer industry’s biggest event, coming to the Colorado Convention Center in Denver Oct. 10-12, in registration guidelines for prospective brewery participants. Instead of the usual four, individually-ticketed festival sessions, GABF will host three sessions: One on Thursday night (5:30 to 9:30 p.m.), one on Friday night (5:30 to 9:30 p.m.), and one Saturday afternoon (noon to 4:30 p.m.).

  • Business T-Mobile to buy almost all of U.S Cellular in deal worth $4.4 billion with debt
    Chicago Tribune, 05/28/2024 - 5:05am

T-Mobile is buying U. S. Cellular’s wireless operations and certain spectrum assets in a deal valued at $4.4 billion, and further consolidating the industry. As part of the agreement, T-Mobile will get U. S. Cellular’s wireless operations and about 30% of spectrum assets across several spectrum bands. T-Mobile will also enter into a new master license agreement on more than 2,000 towers and extend the lease term for the approximately 600 towers where T-Mobile is already a tenant. “Bringing together UScellular’s network resources with ours will enable us to fill gaps in connectivity that will create a better experience for all of our customers with more coverage and more capacity,” T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said in a statement. T-Mobile said Tuesday that U.

  • Books Readers Take Denver cancels 2025 conference after attendees decry “Fyre Festival of books”
    Denver Post, 05/02/2024 - 5:00am

Several thousand romance readers from across the country descended on the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center two weeks ago for Readers Take Denver, billed as a four-day conference where bibliophiles would have the chance to mingle with their favorite authors, get books signed, and attend panels and other events. But attendees say the April 18-21 conference was so disorganized and chaotic — self-described “RTD survivor” Kelli Meyer referred to it as “the Fyre Festival of books” — that authors soon began pulling out of next year’s event at the Aurora hotel, which already was on sale. This week, Readers Take Denver announced its 2025 edition was canceled. “I’ve been to many conferences and this, by far, was the worst one I’ve ever been to,” said Sarah Slusarczyk, a 32-year-old who traveled from Michigan.

  • Travel A weekend guide in Ouray, the country’s No. 1 vacation destination of 2024
    Denver Post, 04/15/2024 - 5:00am

Editor’s note: This is part of The Know’s series, Staff Favorites. Each week, we offer our opinions on the best that Colorado has to offer for dining, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities and more. (We’ll also let you in on some hidden gems). My birthday is close to Memorial Day weekend every year, and I like to take advantage of the long weekend by checking a town off of my Colorado travel list. In years past, my friends and I have soaked up the San Juan Mountain views in the warmth of the Pagosa hot springs and gone whitewater rafting in Class 4 rapids down the Royal Gorge in Cañon City.
