Cheniere CEO calls Biden's LNG pause 'shocking' and 'appalling,' but company not affected currently

The CEO of Houston-based Cheniere Energy Inc. (NYSE: LNG) said the Biden administration’s pause on new liquefied natural gas export approvals is “shocking,” given that the benefits of LNG have been proven over the last eight years. Jack Fusco said during Cheniere’s fourth quarter 2023 earnings call that the regulatory pause on approvals for exporting to non-Free Trade Agreement countries, which could last well beyond the 2024 elections, is not currently affecting Cheniere’s expansion projects.
