Alien fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming years thanks to a reboot of the sci-fi horror franchise in the form of a new TV series by Noah Hawley and movie from Fede Álvarez, but a short time ago there was a lot of speculation that Neill Blomkamp was planning to return to the original Alien universe with a Halloween-style retcon movie that would have been a new direct sequel to James Cameron’s Aliens and brought back Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley.
