The Jurassic Park franchise has a tight cast of characters, but according to screenwriter David Koepp, one of Michael Crichton’s central protagonists almost didn’t make it into the movie because he was “too hard to write.” That character was Ian Malcolm, played across several Jurassic movies by the inimitable Jeff Goldblum.
