Some hourly employees who need to get tested for the novel coronavirus will be able to be paid while they get tested and wait for their results. Gov. Jared Polis directed the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment to conduct emergency rulemaking to cover paid sick leave, he said at a news conference Tuesday morning where he declared a state of emergency. Polis said the state wants to make sure employees who work in food handling, hospitality, child care, health care and education receive paid sick leave to miss work if they have flu-like symptoms and are waiting for their coronavirus test results.
