Running against incumbent Rep. Allen Skillicorn, who was accused of an ethics violation, Republican candidate for the 66th House District, Carolyn Schofield, told the Northwest Herald last Tuesday she aims to win back to “integrity” and “representation” within the district. Schofield alleged in her complaint last month to the Illinois Legislative Inspector General that Skillicorn, R-East Dundee, was in Harvard – which is about 220 miles away from the Illinois Capitol – during the Illinois House's last spring session of 2019 on June 1. Schofield said she finds it a problem that Skillicorn “was lying to the public” about being at the session in Springfield while he was at the Harvard Milk Days festival. “I’m running because we're not represented well.
