Crystal Lake lane closure, roadwork postponed

Roadwork in Crystal Lake on the westbound Crystal Lake Avenue lane that would have led to a lane closure and detour has been postponed. Westbound Crystal Lake Avenue originally was going to be closed between East and Main streets beginning Monday, but the work will instead take place at the end of the month or in early March, according to the city. When work begins, the road is slated to remain closed for utility work for about a month. The detour, which would be necessary for gas main relocation work, is being postponed by Nicor. Nicor’s contractor will continue working in the vicinity of the Main Street and Crystal Lake Avenue intersection next week.
