Huntley School District 158 administrators are investigating an incident in which one of its buses was stopped at an “unsafe distance” from the train crossing at Route 47 and Main Street while a freight train was passing. The bus did not have any children on it and was empty except for the driver. Although “no harm” resulted from the incident, the district said a photo “appears to show a very dangerous situation that is unacceptable and not in keeping with our established transportation safety practices.” “We have launched an investigation to gather all information about this incident,” district officials said in a letter sent to parents Thursday. The email was sent to District 158 families at 11:27 a.m.
