PROVIDENCE — Neil D. Steinberg, president and CEO of the state's most generous philanthropic organization, wants to spread success to future generations.Addressing about 850 people at the Rhode Island Foundation's annual meeting Thursday evening, Steinberg told donors, nonprofits and civic leaders that awarding $52 million in grants to more than 1,900 organizations in 2018 fulfilled only part of the foundation's purpose.
