Winds will diminish today, but it's still a day when gusts will be strong enough to fill the swimming pool with more leaves, send hairpieces flying and make a chilly day feel even colder. Winds reached 41 mph at Sacramento's Executive Airport on Tuesday, but today's gusts are expected to be only half that. The National Weather Service nonetheless expects it to be breezy with the north wind steadily blowing from 15 to 18 mph and gusts to 22 mph. Winds will diminish through the week until calm returns and perfect fall weather settles in for Halloween: 74 degrees during the day and temperatures about 60 degrees when trick-or-treaters are out making their rounds Saturday night. No rain is predicted through Tuesday.
