TEMPLETON, Mass. – Route 2 in both directions was shut down for the most unusual of reasons: a bear den has been found in the median. State environmental police are relocating the bear family at mid-morning Thursday. Both sides of the highway were closed for about 30 minutes, before officials opened the eastbound lanes about 10 a.m. The shutdown is near Exits 19 and 20 in Templeton, which is about 25 miles northwest of Worcester.
