EUGENE, Ore. — Students will be back in class Monday at Cascade Middle School where administrators, teachers and counselors hope the school day is “as normal as possible” in the aftermath of a fatal officer-involved shooting on campus last week. The school plans to provide “care rooms” for students who want to talk with a counselor or other trusted adult and teachers were collaborating Sunday to provide answers to questions that students may have about Friday’s fatal shooting of 30-year-old Charles Frederick Landeros, said Bethel School District spokesperson Pat McGillivray. “Teachers together are going to work on a statement that they can share with their students, and there will be an opportunity for kids to ask questions,” said McGillivray on Sunday.
