Comment on Man shot to death after helping mom

A 45-year-old man was shot to death in front of his childhood home Thursday afternoon in Miami-Dade, police said.<p/> The man, identified as Eric Collins, was dead on the sidewalk on the 3100 block of Northwest 53rd Street, said Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Alvaro Zabaleta. Witnesses told detectives that a dark-colored vehicle was seen going east on 53rd street as he gasped for life.
