Cedar Rapids man arrested for attempted robbery on Iowa City street

A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested for first degree robbery following an incident in Iowa City.According to a Johnson County Sheriff Department complaint, Keith Delino Whittmon-Anderson, 20 of Cedar Rapids, approached an individual on foot at the 400 block of Gilbert St. in Iowa City during the early morning hours of August 1, 2018.Whittmon-Anderson was joined by another co-defendant and the pair got the victim’s attention by saying “Sir,” and asking him for a cigarette.According to the complaint, he told Whittmon-Anderson that he did not have a cigarette to give, and kept walking.At this time, the pair allegedly stopped the victim, and the co-defendant displayed a firearm and demanded the individual to turn over his wallet.
