Plane crashes in Greenville since 1966

Sept. 17, 2011 One person died when a Cessna 172 M crashed after circling the area three times. The NTSB determined the probable cause of the accident to be the pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed while maneuvering at low altitude, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall/spin and subsequent impact. Sept. 14, 2003 Three people died and one was injured when a Cessna U206F floatplane ferrying passengers from Horseshoe Pond near Greenville executed an emergency landing and struck trees.
