Defense: Police took phone without warrant in exchange student drug-induced homicide case

When police tracked Francis Emanuele down at the Westmont car dealership where he worked on May 5, 2016, they immediately took his cellphone. In a recently filed motion, Emanuele's attorneys say Glen Ellyn police illegally searched Emanuele and illegally seized his phone without a warrant. And they want all evidence from the phone banned from evidence at any legal proceedings or trial.
