WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A civil rights group has filed a federal lawsuit against Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach challenging a controversial multi-state voter registration database it claims has exposed sensitive data such as partial Social Security numbers of nearly 1,000 voters. The complaint filed Tuesday by the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas alleges Kobach's "reckless maintenance" of the Crosscheck program and disclosure of private voter data is an unconstitutional invasion of privacy.
