Three licensed liquor establishments in the village failed a liquor compliance check held by the Huntley Police Department. Best Price Tobacco and Gifts, 11717 E. Main St., Pinecrest Golf Club, 11220 Algonquin Road and Lucky Bernie's, 9810 Illinois Route 47, were issued liquor license violations, according to a press release from the Huntley Police Department. Police Chief Robert Porter said that compliance checks happen once a year. “We let all of our license holders know that we give them written notice that during the next 60 days we will be sending in an underage young adult who will come into their business and attempt to buy alcoholic beverages," Porter said. Porter said the Huntley Liquor Commission will determine sanctions on the three businesses under violation and that the police department takes the issue "very seriously." “Every municipality has a responsibility to make sure that we don’t have underage people purchasing alcohol in our community and that we take it very seriously as a police department," Porter said.
