WCWS: Hall of Fame Stadium will look different for fans next year

By Scott Wright, Staff Writer, swright@oklahoman.comFans will notice the difference before they even get inside USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium next year. Phase III of the stadium's revamping will do away with the portable buildings being used as ticket booths, and the iron gates the fans pass through when they enter the Women's College World Series. Those will give way to a rock and brick facade with new ticket windows and entrances that lead into a modernized concourse. Recent upgrades have included improved dugouts and team meeting rooms under the stadium, and other additions primarily designed to meet the needs of the players and coaches at the annual Women's College World Series. The next two phases, expected to cost in the $18 million to $21 million range, will benefit the fans, some in ways they notice, and some in ways that aren't so visible.
