Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Baker Who Refused to Make a Gay Wedding Cake

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday in favor of Jack Phillips, a Colorado baker who had refused to make a cake for a same-sex wedding. In the 7-2 decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the majority consisted of the court’s conservatives plus liberal justices Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer.
