By CHRIS SHULL Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s music has been performed by ensembles and orchestras across the United States and around the world, but his roots in North Texas are deep. He is a professor of composition and conducts the Musica Nova ensemble at the University of Texas at Dallas. He was composer-in-residence with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, where Eduardo Mata and Andrew Litton conducted his work.A San Antonio native and University of Texas at Austin alumnus, Rodriguez is probably best known as an opera composer.
