2 workers electrocuted after hitting power line near Ray Nixon Power Plant

Two men were electrocuted Thursday morning when a drilling truck touched an overhead power line and then exploded near the Ray Nixon Power Plant. The truck hit a 12,250-volt overhead power line as three subcontractors were taking soil samples for an expansion of the power plant’s main entrance gate, said Arem Benyamin, general manager of Colorado Springs Utilities’ Energy Supply Division. The two men standing just outside the truck were electrocuted.
