Former Detroit police command officer sentenced in corruption case

A former Detroit deputy police chief was sentenced Wednesday to serve one year in jail for accepting a bribe from a city contractor linked to the FBI investigation into corruption in Macomb County and Detroit.Celia Washington, 57, of Detroit, also was ordered by U.S. District Judge David Lawson to pay a $2,500 fine and be under court-supervision for two years when she gets out of jail.
