The Colorado Avalanche on Thursday announced the signing of forward Josh Dickinson to a three-year, entry-level contract that begins next season. The 20-year-old center will have an amateur tryout with the San Antonio Rampage for the remainder of this season, the Avalanche said. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Canadian played 40 games during his freshman season at Clarkson University, tallying 26 points (15 goals, 11 assists) for the Golden Knights. Originally from Georgetown, Ontario, Dickinson compiled 142 career points (56 goals, 86 assists) in 153 games for the Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in three seasons. Dickinson served as the Raiders’ alternate captain in 2015-16, and their captain in 2016-17.
