Comment on California voters are joining this party by mistake, but lawmakers aren’t doing anything about it

More than a half century after the last passenger disembarked Car No. 10 of the Yampa Valley Mail train, an effort to revive passenger rail from Colorado’s capital city to the state’s northwest corner is taking shape. The type of train hasn’t been chosen, ridership projections haven’t been publicized, fares haven’t been set and travel times haven’t been announced.

The numbers are staggering. Denver nonprofit We Don’t Waste recovered more than 22.8 million servings of food in 2023 that otherwise would have gone to waste. By its reckoning, that accounted for more than 7.5 million meals going to people in need, and it prevented more than 10.4 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions that would have been created if that food had gone to rot in landfills. The Denver Post Season To Share is the annual holiday fundraising campaign for The Denver Post and The Denver Post Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Former Texas Longhorns infielder Skyler Messinger wanted to clarify something. “When I say that ‘Tulo’ has a screw loose, I mean that as the highest possible compliment I could give him,” Messinger said. Dear Eric: My husband and I are in our 70s and retired to a new community. We are engaged in church ministries and social groups that meet for dinner periodically. I volunteer and he is an avid golfer. My problem is not being able to turn new relationships into meaningful friendships.
