Two local apartment complexes and one business have been victimized by a thief who fished checks and cash out of drop boxes and mail slots. The thief made off with 16 checks in all worth a total of $7,210 during the late February and early March incidents at the Cottages at Azalea and the Northwest apartment complexes and Lancaster Financial Services. The crimes at the two apartment complex offices happened overnight March 4, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Lancaster Police Department incident reports.
