The Chinese yuan hits a multi-year high against the dollar

Kevin C. Cox./Getty The People's Bank of China set its USD/CNY midpoint at 6.2816 Tuesday. It's the lowest midpoint for the currency pair since August 11, 2015. The further the midpoint falls, the stronger the Chinese yuan. The Chinese yuan is on the charge in Asia, hitting the strongest level against the greenback since August 2015.
