ALBANY – As the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade marked its 45th anniversary Monday, efforts to codify the federal law's abortion protections in New York law continue at the start of the legislative session. This year, as part of his 2019 budget proposal, the governor has called for removing abortion from the state's penal code.
