The once-gutted sanctuary of the Rose City Baptist Church smelled of fresh paint and sawdust Thursday night as its doors were opened to anxious residents hoping to get answers from officials about Harvey recovery. David Bush has lived in Rose City for nearly three decades. Like many others in the small Orange County town of 500, he said his home never flooded before the August tropical storm. Bush said he's frustrated by the response he's received from adjusters, the National Flood Insurance Program and FEMA. Getting disaster aid and insurance claims paid is not nearly as easy or streamlined as officials make it out to be, he told representatives from the county, NFIP and federal government at the town hall.
