A horse was killed Dec. 26 when it ran across Grace Avenue in Lancaster County and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The accident occurred at 8:57 a.m., about half a mile west of the city of Lancaster. Jason Harris, 40, was driving his 2000 Toyota pickup east on Grace Avenue when the horse ran out in front of him. Harris, who was wearing his seat belt, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Springs Memorial Hospital. The horse’s owner was unknown and no charges had been filed in the incident by press time Thursday.
