Turkey recipes vary this Thanksgiving – at least among Erwin Elementary students. Most of their recipes call for an hour of cooking, but others have a few unheard-of touches. The first step for Kyra Smith, 10, is thawing the turkey. “Hit it with a hammer a few times,” Kyra said. “It gets the ice off pretty well.” Seasoning and stuffing is next after the turkey is completely thawed out.
